Frann Glick earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Education at Queens College. She has worked the last twenty three years at Nassau B.O.C.E.S., a special education school. Her work descriptions included job developer, job coach, and facilitator of a vocational group for Supported Employment. As an educator in the classroom Frann taught academics and life skills to young adults with learning, emotional and psychiatric disabilities. Her goals were realized as her students/consumers made the transition to independence and employment in the community setting.
In seeking education for her own retinal disease Frann was approached by the Director of the Foundation Fighting Blindness to be a leader on the Board for the Long Island Chapter. Frann initiated her ideas for developing a networking group for visually impaired and blind individuals. The Eye 2 Eye Support Group was created in 2008 and with great success has expanded to chapters throughout various states in the nation. Frann has been involved in many presentations including her proudest moment in 2010 at the New York Academy of Science Seminar where she spoke to an audience of three hundred regarding her roles as Chapter Leader and Coordinator/Facilitator of the Eye 2 Eye Support Group.
